My Weight Loss Journey: A Year of Transformation with Ellie

I can’t believe it has been a year since I embarked on my weight loss journey with Ellie. It feels surreal to look back and see how much my body has transformed from being unhealthy to becoming much stronger. The results have been nothing short of amazing, and the multiple compliments from friends and family, along with the stark difference in my old pictures, are a testament to this incredible journey.

I’ve tried multiple diets in the past to lose weight and always gave up after a week, as I wanted to binge straight after. It turns out you don’t have to eat bland food to be healthy or go on ridiculous diets that aren’t sustainable in the long term. You can still enjoy your favorite meals by being mindful and having a decent portion size and of course protein!

When I first started, I was very skeptical about having an online coach. I had never experienced anything like it and had no benchmarks to judge it by. However, with Ellie’s guidance on nutrition and exercise, I managed to reach my goal and drop a dress size within 12 weeks! This gave me the fuel to carry on with our programme and see what a year could bring! 

How it worked

Our initial call was about my goals, how long the programme was and what equipment I needed. (As I wasn’t ready to join the gym just yet) she did everything for me planning a 12 week programme so I didn’t have to, tracking calories (in my case I wanted to send food pictures rather than obsessively track calories) advice on what meals to eat – swapping certain food to get the right protein intake and still enjoying the meals I loved! After a confidence growth from sending videos back and forth I felt brave to go to the gym!!

Gym anxiety is a real issue, especially when you’re not a confident gym-goer. It can be daunting to step into a space filled with experienced athletes and unfamiliar equipment. However, through listening to Ellie’s advice and gradually building my confidence, I discovered that everyone at the gym is generally helpful and supportive. This shift in perspective made working out much more enjoyable. While I still get anxious from time to time, it’s far less frequent than before. As my confidence grew, I slowly transitioned to the gym, finding my place and embracing the supportive community.

Ellie dedicates her time to working with you and regularly checks up on your progress. This constant engagement made the process addictive, and I found myself eager to learn and gain more knowledge about how to achieve a leaner body.

Ellie’s weekly feedback was incredibly motivating, pushing me to challenge myself continually. Through this journey, I have learned so much about myself and how to maintain my desired goal. Experimenting with different high-protein recipes has been a delightful part of this process. Below, I’m excited to share some of my favorites that have helped me maintain my gains.

Pea & Egg Smoked Salmon On Toast

Ingredients: Peas, Cottage Cheese, Handful of Basil, Half a Lemon, Spring Onion, Garlic Clove, Grated Parmesan, Whole Grain Toast, Egg and Smoked Salmon. For Garnish Fresh Chives.

Method: Boil Eggs for 6-7 minutes, Microwave/ Boil or Steam your Peas, and then blend all the ingredients above adding salt and pepper. Serve it on top of your toast and place your egg and smoked salmon on top creating an addictive breakfast!

Tuna Cucumber Boat

Ingredients: Cucumber, Canned Tuna, Light Mayo, Sticky Rice, Avocado, Sriracha Mayo.

Method: Use half or whole cucumber scoop the guts out, add some rice, avocado, and tuna on the cucumber, and then drizzle the sriracha mayo – walaa a quick and tasty lunch!

Homemade Pizza

Ingredients: A Cup of Plain Flour, 3 Tablespoons of 0% Fat Free Yoghurt, 1 Teaspoon of Olive Oil, 1/2 Baking Powder, and Pinch of Sea Salt. The toppings 3 Tablespoons of Tomato Puree, EatLean Cheese and meat of choice.

Method: Mix plain flour, yoghurt, olive oil, baking powder, and salt together. Then knead it into a dough use a rolling pin or in my case a round cylinder to roll out the dough. Add your toppings put it in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or longer depending how crispy you like it at 200 degrees celsius or gas mark 6.

Sticking to this plan wasn’t always easy, but with Ellie’s support, she provided manageable goals that made the process sustainable. I could still enjoy my favourite activities, like eating out and socialising with friends, as long as I remained mindful during my dieting period.
